1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present

The following members were present:—

Deputy O’Toole (in the Chair), Deputies Filgate, Horgan, Leyden, Morley and O’Hanlon.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1978

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1978 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—

Comptroller and Auditor General, Defence, Army Pensions, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Vocational Education, Residential Homes and Special Schools, Higher Education.

4. Witnesses Examined

Mr. P. L. Mac Domhnaill (Secretary and Director of Audit), Mr. M. P. Healy (Secretary, Department of Defence), Mr. L. O’Laidhin (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. C. K. McGrath (An Roinn Airgeadais) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. The Committee deliberated.

6. Adjournment

The Committee adjourned at 2 p.m. sine die.
