1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present

The following members were present:—

Deputy O’Toole (in Chair), Deputies Belton, O’Brien and Smith.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1978

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1978 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—

Valuation and Ordnance Survey, Rates on Government Property, Central Statistics Office, Public Works and Buildings, Fisheries, Forestry.

4. Witnesses Examined

Mr. D. F. Ryan (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. T. P. Linehan (Director, Central Statistics

Office), Mr. S. S. Mac Cárthaigh (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works), Mr. A. W. Duggan (Secretary, Department of Fisheries and Forestry), Mr. B. Kissane and Mr. T. O’Connor (Department of Finance), and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment

The Committee adjourned at 1 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
