Committee Reports::Report No. 12 - National Building Agency, Limited::02 October, 1980::Appendix

APPENDIX 12

LETTER TO CLERK TO JOINT COMMITTEE FROM SLIGO CORPORATION

I refer to your letter of the 14th November, 1979 regarding the above, and wish to set out the views of the Corporation of Sligo in the form suggested in your letter.

(a) It is considered that the National Building Agency have been successful in providing houses for the Corporation.

(b) Consultations have been adequate. More in-depth study of layout and house plans by both N.B.A. staff and some input by Local Authority staff could resolve some of the problems of earlier schemes.

(c) Similar to (b) above.

(d) The Corporation are satisfied with the adequacy of National Building Agency supervision on a scheme at present in the course of construction at Abbeyquarter. The procedures for taking over a completed scheme are vague. There is no problem in taking over completed houses. The taking over of roads, services and public lighting is not as clear cut and it is suggested that this might be ironed out at tender stage.

(e) The procedures for rectifying faults have been adequate.

Yours faithfully

J. McNABOLA
