Committee Reports::Report No. 06 - Aer Rianta Teoranta::14 November, 1979::Appendix

APPENDIX 8

LETTER TO CLERK TO JOINT COMMITTEE FROM SWISS AIR.

With reference to your letter of 18 May concerning the operation of Aer Rianta and our impressions of same.

I would like to inform you that from the very beginning of our operation into Dublin, which started on 1 April 1979, all Aer Rianta staff have been extremely helpful, specifically concerning the arrangements for the different departures and arrivals of our inaugural flights, during which time they went all out in order to make these events a great success. We have also had the same impression in Shannon where we have had a quite comprehensive pilot training programme.

One field of concern is certainly the small amount of space allocated to airlines at the airport, specifically with future development in mind.

If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I remain,

Yours sincerely,

SVEN O. LEGNELIUS,

Manager for Ireland,
