1. The Committee met at 3.45 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy John Esmonde (in the Chair), the Minister for Lands, Deputies, Bermingham* Brennan, Daly, Barry Desmond, Haughey, Kenny, Kitt, L’Estrange, John O’Leary, John Ryan,* Godfrey Timmins* and Tunney.

3. Consideration of Bill.

The Committee resumed consideration of the Bill.

(i) Section 63.

Question again proposed:—

“That the section stand part of the Bill.”

Question put, and agreed to.

(ii) Sections 64 to 68 inclusive, agreed to.

(iii) Section 69.

Amendment proposed (Minister for Lands):

“In page 54, subsection (3) (a), to insert ‘or 73’ after ‘section 72’ in line 15.”

Amendment agreed to.

Amendment proposed (Minister for Lands):

“In page 54, subsection (3) (b), to insert ‘without reasonable excuse’ before ‘fails’ in line 17.”

Amendment agreed to.

Amendment proposed (Minister for Lands):

“In page 54, subsection (3) (b), to insert ‘or 73’ after ‘section 72’ in line 19.”

Amendment agreed to.

Amendment proposed (Minister for Lands):

“In page 54, lines 31 to 37, to delete subsection (5) and substitute the following subsection:

‘(5) Any person who conceals from a person lawfully exercising a power under section 72 or 73 of this Act any specimen of flora or fauna or any part or product of such specimen or any thing which is a thing mentioned in section 73 (1) of this Act shall be guilty of an offence’.”
