1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy de Valera (in the Chair), Deputies Crotty, MacSharry and Tunney.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1971-72.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1971-72 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Industry and Commerce, Posts and Telegraphs, Social Welfare.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. P. Ó Slatarra (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. P. L. Ó Colmáin (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs), Mr. P. A. Ó hEidhin (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Interim Report of Committee.

The Chairman brought forward a Draft Interim Report for consideration.

Draft Interim Report agreed to.

Ordered: To report to the Dáil accordingly.

6. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12.15 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
