IMEACHTAÍ AN CHOISTE.THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.Dé Céadaoin, 13 Meán Fómhair, 1972.Wednesday, 13th September, 1972.1. The Committee met at 3.30 p.m. 2. Members Present. The following members were present:— Senator Sheldon (in the Chair), Senators McElgunn and Owens. 3. Consideration of Memoranda. Following consideration of memoranda submitted in accordance with the Orders of 28th June, 1972, it was:— (i) Resolved: That it is not necessary to draw the special attention of Seanad Éireann to the following statutes:— University College, Cork. Statutes LXXXII, LXXXIV, LXXXVI, LXXXVII and LXXXIX. (ii) Resolved: That the special attention of Seanad Éireann be drawn to the following statute on ground (ii) of the Resolution of Reference:— University College, Dublin. Statute LXXI. (iii) Ordered: That the Department of the Taoiseach be requested to submit a memorandum explaining the present position in respect of the right of appeal against statutes made by the National University of Ireland and its constituent colleges as provided for by Section 5 of the Irish Universities Act, 1908. (iv) Ordered: That the National University of Ireland be requested to submit a memorandum explaining certain aspects of the university statutes submitted to the Committee. 4. Adjournment. The Committee adjourned at 4.30 p.m. |
