The following members were present:— Deputy Patrick Hogan (in the Chair), Deputies Barrett, R. Burke, E. Collins, FitzGerald, Keating, MacSharry, Nolan, Treacy and Tunney. 3. Mr. E. F. Suttle (Comptroller and Auditor General) was in attendance in an advisory capacity. 4. The Committee went into public session. 5. Witnesses Examined. Examination of Deputy Charles J. Haughey was resumed (accompanied by Mr. P. O’Connor, Solicitor). 6. Sitting Suspended. The sitting was suspended at 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. today. 7. The Committee met again at 3 p.m. 8. The Committee went into public session. 9. Witnesses Examined. Examination of Deputy Haughey was resumed. 10. Deputy Haughey withdrew. 11. Sitting Suspended. The sitting was suspended at 4.40 p.m. until 5.20 p.m. today. 12. The Committee met again at 5.20 p.m. 13. The Committee went into public session. 14. Witnesses Examined. Examination of Mr. W. C. Walsh, Munster and Leinster Bank, was resumed. 15. Mr. Walsh withdrew. 16. Witnesses Examined. Examination of Mr. H. T. Deacon, Munster and Leinster Bank, was resumed. 17. Mr. Deacon withdrew. 18. The Committee went into private session. 19. Ordered: that Captain James J. Kelly be required to produce his passport to the Committee for inspection, and that the Director of Intelligence be required to send any written reports made by Captain Kelly to Colonel Hefferon regarding Malcolm Randall. 20. Ordered: that in view of his letter of 1st March, 1971* the taking of evidence from the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries be postponed. 21. Ordered: that Mr. H. Blaney and Mr. R. Murnane be required to attend. 22. Adjournment. The Committee adjourned at 6.50 p.m. until 11 a.m. tomorrow. |
