1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Patrick Hogan (in the Chair) Deputies Edward Collins, Hugh Gibbons, Patrick J. Lenihan, Treacy and Tunney.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1968-69.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1968-69 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—

Local Government, External Affairs and International Co-operation.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. M. Lawless (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. H. McCann (Secretary, Department of External Affairs), Mr. P. S. Mac Guill and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12.20 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
