1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary) (in the Chair), Deputies Briscoe, Crowley, Gilhawley, Healy, Molloy and Treacy.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1967-68.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1967-68 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— External Affairs, Indernational Cooperation, Posts and Telegraphs and Local Government.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. H. McCann, (Secretary, Department of External Affairs) Mr. J. A. Scannell (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs) Mr. M. Lawless (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. J. R. Whitty, Mr. J. Whelan, and Mr. M. O’Reilly, (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.10 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, 6th March.
