1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary) (in the Chair), Deputies Andrews, Briscoe, Patrick J. Burke, Crowley, Gilhawley and Healy.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1967-68.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1967-68 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, Courts, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Vocational Education, Reformatory and Industrial Schools and Universities and Colleges and Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. P. Berry (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. S. MacGearailt (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. P. S. MacGuill and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.45 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, next.
