APPENDIX 13.

COMPILATION OF PROPERTY RENTAL 1967/8.

Mapping:

During the year 56 properties were surveyed and 30 were mapped; the counties concerned were Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Offaly, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath and Wexford. One Surveyor was occupied for about 5 weeks on survey and mapping work in connection with the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park. The Surveyors were also engaged in preparation of maps for leases, sales, etc., and research work in the Valuation Office and Land Registry.


From the initiation of the property rental 1,623 properties have been surveyed and 1,597 properties mapped. Survey work remains to be done in about 54 cases and mapping in 80 cases excluding National Monuments, State owned National Schools, and houses built by the National Building Agency.


Legal Work:

We are in correspondence with the Chief State Solicitor about the possibility of getting the outstanding cases attended to.


Secretariat:

In addition to the counties mentioned in last year’s report records of properties in Roscommon, Longford, Louth, Monaghan and Offaly are available for the District Architects concerned.


The custody of all Deeds of Properties was assigned to the section in February, 1968.


Preambulation:

Periodic inspections have been held up pending the organisation of the new procedure and the completion of the records of all counties.
