1. The Committee met at 4 p.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary) (in the Chair), Deputies Andrews, Briscoe, Patrick J. Burke, Patrick Byrne, Crowley, Healy, Kenny, Molloy and Reynolds.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1966-67.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1966-67 was resumed.


The Committee concluded its examination of Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General.


4. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. P. Berry (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. T. K. Whitaker and Mr. S. Murray (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.


5. Interim Report of Committee.


The Chairman brought forward a Draft Interim Report for consideration.


Draft Interim Report agreed to.


Ordered: To report to the Dáil accordingly.


6. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 6 p.m. until 11 a.m. to-morrow.
