OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS.

Compilation of Property Rental 1964/65.

Mapping:

During the year 29 properties were surveyed and 16 were mapped, the counties concerned being Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Limerick, Monaghan, Clare, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Waterford and Wexford.

From the initiation of the property rental 1,526 properties have been surveyed and 1,461 have been mapped.

Legal:

The final legal work was done in respect of 5 properties in Counties Cork, Galway and Westmeath.

Secretariat:

Of the properties surveyed 18 were finally dealt with for the purposes of the Rental. In addition the records of title etc. were compiled in respect of 39 other properties (short term tenancies, national schools, etc.). The properties concerned are situated in Counties Cork, Galway, Kerry, Monaghan, Tipperary, Westmeath, Clare, Offaly, Roscommon and Wicklow.

Perambulation:

It is expected that the revised perambulation procedure (whereby each District Architect will retain in his District Office records of all properties in his District to enable him to co-ordinate regular perambulations with routine maintenance inspections without being instructed on each occasion by Head Office) will be initiated shortly in the Sligo/Leitrim District in respect of which the necessary rental records have been prepared. In the meantime periodic inspection of the properties has continued.
