1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Briscoe, Patrick J. Burke, Flor Crowley, Healy, Kenny and Treacy.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1963-64.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1963-64 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, Courts of Justice, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Employment and Emergency Schemes, External Affairs, International Co-operation and National Gallery.


4. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. P. Berry (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. M. Hawe (Employment and Emergency Schemes), Mr. H. J. McCann (Secretary Department of External Affairs), Mr. J. White (Director, National Gallery), Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

The Committee adjourned at 12.35 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
