THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 28th October, 1965.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:


Deputy Jones (in the Chair), Deputies Briscoe, Patrick J. Burke, Patrick Byrne, Flor Crowley, Healy, Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary) and Treaey.


3. Election of Temporary Chairman.


Motion made (Deputy Patrick Hogan) (South Tipperary)):


“That Deputy Healy be the Chairman of the Committee until 11.30 a.m.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Healy took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1963-64.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1963-64 was resumed. The following Account was disposed of:—Industry and Commerce.


5. Election of Temporary Chairman.


Motion made (Deputy Briscoe):


“That Deputy Hogan be the Chairman of the Committee for the remainder of the meeting.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Hogan took the Chair accordingly.


6. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1963-64.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1963-64 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Agriculture, Valuation and Ordnance Survey and Rates on Government Property.


7. Witnesses Examined.


Dr. J. C. B. MacCarthy (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. J. C. Nagle (Secretary, Department of Agriculture), Mr. J. Mooney (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. L. V. O’Neill and Mr. J. R. Whitty (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.


8. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 1.15 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
