1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputies Patrick Byrne, Flor Crowley, Cunningham, Healy, Patrick Hogan (South Tipperary), Kenny, Molloy and Treacy.


3. Election of Temporary Chairman.


Motion made (Deputy Healy):


“That Deputy Cunningham be the Chairman of the Committee until the arrival of the Chairman.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Cunningham took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1963-64.


Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1963-64 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Charitable Donations and Bequests, Health and Central Mental Hospital.


Deputy Jones took the Chair.


The Account of Transport and Power was disposed of.


5. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. J. S. Martin (Secretary, Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Mr. P. S. Ó Muireadhaigh (Secretary, Department of Health), T. J. Beere (Secretary, Department of Transport and Power), Miss Máire Breathnach (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.


6. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 12.25 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday next.
