APPENDIX XVI.HOLIDAY AND SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE GAELTACHT.Cléireach, An Coiste um Chuntais Phoiblí. At the proceedings of the Committee on 4th instant I undertook to supply additional information as to the administration of the scheme of Scholarships provided under Subhead M—Holiday & School Scholarships in the Gaeltacht—to enable school children to go to the Gaeltacht during summer holidays. The Department furnishes full details regarding the conditions of the Scheme and the procedure to be followed, to the public on request. Under the conditions of the Scheme it is open to groups of persons to apply to the Department for recognition as a Committee with a view to securing grants in respect of the children whom they send to the Gaeltacht. Recognition is given in all cases where the Department is satisfied that the Committee can be relied upon to carry out the conditions of the scheme. It is the aim of the Department to secure that as far as possible all children are catered for by local committees or school committees.
