GAELTARRA ÉIREANN: REPAYMENT OF REPAYABLE ADVANCES.

At the proceedings of the Committee on 4th instant I undertook to supply additional information as to the manner in which repayment by Gaeltarra Éireann of Repayable Advances received from the Central Fund is shown in the Board’s Annual Accounts. Advances are repayable with interest in half-yearly instalments on an annuity basis. The interest content of each repayment is included as a charge in the Trading Profit & Loss Account under the heading Costais Tairgthe (Production Costs) and is itemised in the Schedule which goes with that account. Repayment of principal is shown in the Clár Comhardaithe (Balance Sheet) as a reduction of the liability in respect of the Advances received by the Board.
