ROINN NA GAELTACHTA: PROVISION OF TENNIS COURTS AT IRISH COLLEGE, TEELIN, CO. DONEGAL.

At the proceedings of the Committee on 4th instant I undertook to supply additional information as to the payment of £600 under Subhead D.—Improvement schemes in the Gaeltacht—in respect of the provision of tennis courts at the Irish College, Teelin, Co. Donegal. This sum was the second instalment of a grant of £1,000 made for the improvement of the College amenities, by the provision of two hard tennis courts. Unexpected difficulty was experienced with the drainage of the site and the total cost of the work came very close to £1,500. Under the conditions of the scheme a grant may not exceed £1,000 or 80% of the cost whichever is the less.
