THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Cosgrave (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, Desmond, Jones, Moloney and Sheldon.

3. The Committee deliberated.

4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1959-60.

Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1959-60 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Office of the Minister for Social Welfare, Social Insurance, Social Assistance and Agriculture.

5. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. P. J. Keady (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), Mr. J. C. Nagle (Secretary, Department of Agriculture), Mr. C. J. Byrnes and Mr. P. S. Mac Guill (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General.

6. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12.40 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, 15th December, 1960.
