THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following Members were present:—

Deputy Cosgrave (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, Seán Browne, Carty, Jones, Moloney, O’Toole and Sheldon.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1959-60.

Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1959-60 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—National Gallery, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, Universities and Colleges, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries, Industry and Commerce, Transport and Marine Services, Aviation and Meteorological Services, Industrial and Commercial Property Registration Office, Tourism and Repayment of Trade Loans Advances.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. T. McGreevy (Director, National Gallery), Mr. T. Ó Raifeartaigh (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. T. O’Brien (Secretary, Department of Lands), Mr. J. C. B. MacCarthy (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. C. J. Byrnes, Mr. P. S. Mac Guill and Mr. J. F. MacInerney (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.20 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday next.
