THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Cosgrave (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, Desmond, Jones, Thaddeus Lynch, Moloney, O’Toole and Sheldon,

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1958-59.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1958-59 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Health, Office of the Minister for Social Welfare, Social Insurance, Social Assistance, Stationery Office, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies and Universities and Colleges.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. P. Ó Muireadaigh (Secretary, Department of Health), Mr. P. J. Keady (Secretary, Department of Social Welfare), M. T. J. Malone (Controller, Stationery Office), Mr. T. Ó Raifeartaigh (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. P. S. Mac Guill and Mr. J. F. MacInerney (Department of Finance) and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.5 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 6th January, 1960.
