THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 9th October, 1957.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Dillon (in the Chair), Deputies Booth, J. Brennan, Carty, Donegan, Haughey and Jones.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1955-56.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1955-56 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Health, Agriculture, Fisheries, Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, District Court, Circuit Court, Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds and Public Record Office.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. P. Ó Cinnéide (Secretary, Department of Health), Mr. J. Dempsey (Secretary, Department of Agriculture), Mr. T. J. Coyne (Secretary, Department of Justice), Miss M. Bhreathnach, Mr. C. J. Byrnes and Mr. P. S. Mac Guill (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and the Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12.40 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday 24th October, 1957.
