THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 11th October, 1956.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Carter (in the Chair), Deputies Bartley, J. Brennan, Mrs. Crowley, Mrs. O’Carroll, O’Hara and Sheldon.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1954-55.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1954-55 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Office of Public Works Public Works and Buildings, Employment and Emergency Schemes, External Affairs and International Co-operation.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. D. O hÉigceartuigh (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works), Mr. R. Ó Éigeartuigh (Director, Employment and Emergency Schemes), Mr. Seán Murphy (Secretary, Department of External Affairs), Mr. M. Breathnach and Mr. C. J. Byrnes (Department of Finance) and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 2.15 p.m.
