THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 10th October, 1956.

1. The Committee met at 3 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Carter (in the Chair), Deputies Bartley, J. Brennan, Mrs. Crowley, T. Lynch, Mrs. O’Carroll, O’Hara and Sheldon.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1954-55.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1954-55 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Local Government, Industry and Commerce, Transport and Marine Services, Aviation and Meteorological Services, Industrial and Commercial Property Registration Office, Tourism and Repayment of Trade Loan Advances.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. J. Garvin (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. J. C. B. MacCarthy (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Mr. M. Breathnach, Mr. S. O Buachalla and Mr. C. J. Byrnes (Department of Finance), and the Secretary and Director of Audit were examined.
