THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

1. The Committee met at 2.30 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:

Deputy Sheldon (in the Chair), Deputies A. Barry, Bartley, Carter, Mrs. Crowley, Desmond, Donegan, T. Lynch, M. P. Murphy and O’Hara.

3. Consideration of Apropriation Accounts, 1952-53.

Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1952-53 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Local Government, Office of Public Works, and Public Works and Buildings.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. J. Garvin (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. D. Ó hEigceartuigh (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works), Miss M. Breathnach, Mr. M. Breathnach and Mr. J. Mooney (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 4.45 p.m. until 11 a.m. tomorrow.
