1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Sheldon (in the Chair), Deputies Carter, S. Collins, Mrs. Crowley, Davin, D. O’Sullivan and Palmer.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1950-51.


Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1950-51 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—External Affairs, European Co-operation, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Technical Instruction, Science and Art, Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, and Stationery and Printing.


4. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. S. Nunan (Secretary, Department of External Affairs), Mr. M. Breathnach (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. J. B. Carr (Controller, Stationery Office), Miss M. Bhreathnach and Mr. S. F. Murray (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

The Committee adjourned at 12.15 p.m. until Thursday, 10th July.
