THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Thursday, 5th April, 1951.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:


Deputies Coburn, J. J. Collins, S. Collins, Commons, Mrs. Crowley, M. O’Sullivan, Pattison and Sheldon.


3. Election of Temporary Chairman.


Deputy Martin O’Sullivan moved:—


“That Deputy Sheldon act as Chairman of this meeting of the Committee.”


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Sheldon took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1948-49.


Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1948-49 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Industry and Commerce, Aviation and Meteorological Services, Transport and Marine Services, Industrial and Commercial Property Registration Office, Repayment of Trade Loans Advances.


5. Witnesses Examined.


Mr. J. Leydon (Secretary, Department of Industry and Commerce), Miss Máire Breathnach, Mr. M. Breathnach, Mr. J. O’Donovan (Department of Finance), and the Comptroller and Auditor-Genera were examined.


6. Form of Estimates.


The Committee considered a communication from the Department of Finance (See Appendix X XIII) on the subject of a proposed alteration in the form of the Estimates. The Committee noted the proposed alteration.


7. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 12.40 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, 12th April.
