1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:


Deputy Derrig (in the Chair), Deputies Briscoe, S. Collins, Mrs. Crowley, Davern, Gilbride, Kitt, M. O’Sullivan, Pattison and Sheldon.


3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1948-49.


Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1948-49 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—National Gallery, Employment and Emergency Schemes, Posts and Telegraphs and Wireless Broadcasting.


4. Witnesses Examined


Mr. T. Mac Greevy (Director, National Gallery), Mr. E. J. Mac Laughlin (Director, Employment and Emergency Schemes), Mr. Leon O Broin (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs), Miss Máire Breathnach, Mr. P. O’Kelly and Mr. J. E. Twamley (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined.


5. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 1 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, 6th December.
