THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Déardaoin, 9ú Feabhra, 1950.

Thursday, 9th February, 1950.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Present: Deputy Derrig (in the Chair), Deputies Coburn, J. J. Collins, Mrs. Crowley, Davern, Fitzpatrick, Kitt and M. O’Sullivan.

3. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1947-48 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of: Old Age Pensions, Widows’ and Orphans’ Pensions, National Health Insurance, Children’s Allowances, Unemployment Insurance and Unemployment Assistance, Office of the Minister for Social Welfare, Miscellaneous Social Social Welfare Services and Comptroller and Auditor-General.

4. Mr. D. J. O’Donovan (SecretaryDepartment of Social Welfare), Mr. P, O’Kelly and Mr. M. Breathnach (Department of Finance), and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined.

5. The Committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m. till Thursday, 23rd February, 1950.
