THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Dé Céadaoin, 26ú Bealtaine, 1948.

Wednesday, 26th May, 1948.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Present: Deputies Blaney, B. Brady, Briscoe, Coburn, J. J. Collins. Gilbride, Kitt, C. Lehane and MacEntee.


3. Motion made (Deputy C. Lehane):


“That Deputy Mac Entee be Chairman of the Committee.”


Question put and agreed to.


Deputy MacEntee took the Chair accordingly.


4. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1946-47 was begun. The following Accounts were disposed of: Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, District Court, Circuit Court, Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, Lard Registry and Registry of Deeds and Office of Public Works.


The following Account was considered and adjourned: Public Works and Buildings.


5. Mr. S. A. Roche (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. J. Connolly (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works), Mr. C. S. Almond and Mr. F. T. MacHenry (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor-General were examined.


6. The Committee adjourned at 1 p.m. till Wednesday, 2nd June, 1948.
