THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 20th November, 1946.

1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Present: Deputy Cosgrave (in the Chair), Deputies Briscoe, E. Coogan, Loughman, Pattison and Sheldon.


3. Consideration of the Appropriation Accounts for the year 1944-45 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—Stationery and Printing, Valuation and Boundary Survey, Ordnance Survey, Local Government and Public Health, General Register Office, National Health Insurance, Widows’ and Orphans’ Pensions, Charitable Donations and Bequests and Dundrum Asylum.


4. Mr. J. B. Whelehan (Controller, Stationery Office), Mr. C. C. MacElligott (Commissioner of Valuation), Mr. T. Mac Ardle (Sec., Dept. of Local Government and Public Health), Mr. W. Smyth (Sec., Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests), Dr. G. W. Scoope (Dundrum Asylum), Mr. L. M. Fitzgerald (Department of Finance) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.


5. The Committee adjourned at 12.5 p.m. till Thursday, 21st November, 1946.
