PROCEEDINGS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 15th May, 1935.

1. The Joint Committee met at 10.30 a.m.


2. Present: Deputy J. M. Dillon, Chairman; Deputies R. Corish, J. Good and S. Moore; Senators J. C. Dowdall, M. Staines and R. Wilson.


3. Mr. G. Gavan Duffy, K.C., and Mr. T. J. Conolly, B.L., and Messrs. Cartan, O’Meara and Kieran, Parliamentary Agents, appeared for the promoters, the Galway Harbour Commissioners.


4. Reports on the Bill from the Departments of Local Government and Public Health, Posts and Telegraphs, Lands and Fisheries, Finance, and Industry and Commerce were read.


5. Mr. Gavan Duffy, K.C., was heard in support of the Preamble of the Bill and called evidence.


6. Mr. Thomas McDonagh, Chairman, Galway Harbour Commissioners; Mr. Thomas J. W. Kenny, President, Galway Chamber of Commerce; Sir Cyril Kirkpatrick, M.I.C.E., sworn and examined.


7. The Joint Committee adjourned at 1.30 p.m. until to-morrow at 10.30 a.m.
