PROCEEDINGS OF THE SELECT COMMITTEE.

Wednesday, 17th January, 1934.

1. The Select Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Present: Senator M. F. O’Hanlon (in the Chair) and Senators Sir Edward Coey Bigger, J. C. Counihan, J. T. Farrell, William Quirke and Richard Wilson.


3. Professor J. F. Craig, M. A., M.R.C.V.S. (Principal of the Veterinary College of Ireland), Professor J. Brontë Gatenby, M.A., Ph.D., Dublin, D.Phil., Oxon, D.Sc. (Professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy in Dublin University), Dr. B. B. Ferrar, M.D., F.Z.S., M.R.I.A. (Superintendent Royal Zoological Society’s Gardens) and Dr. I. Herzog, M.A., D. Litt. (Chief Rabbi of the Irish Free State) were examined.


4. A letter was read from the Chief Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána and it was decided to ask him to give evidence either in person or by deputy.


5. The Select Committee adjourned at 1.30 p.m. until 12 noon to-morrow.
