PROCEEDINGS OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE.

1. The Joint Committee met at 11 a.m.


2. Present: Senator Hooper (in the Chair); Deputies T. Hennessy, Lemass, T. J. O’Connell, O’Mahony, Smith and Thrift; Senators Mrs. Costello, Johnson, The McGillycuddy of the Reeks, Milroy, Colonel Mooreand O’Hanlon.


3. Allowances to Members of the Dail and of the Seanad.


Motion made (Deputy Hennessy):


“That the basis of allowance be a fixed annual sum.”


Question put and agreed to.


Motion made (Senator Johnson):


“That the Joint Committee is not in favour of a special allowance for service on Parliamentary Committee.”


Question put and agreed to.
