Draft 2001 Work Programme

The Joint Committee on European Affairs, in accordance with its orders of reference, will consider and report on the following matters in 2001:

● World Trade Negotiations

● Enlargement of the European Union

● Treaty of Nice

● European Defence and Security

● EMU - monitoring of changeover procedures

● European Aspects of the Drugs Problem

● Unbundling the local loop

● EU Directive on the conservation of Natural Habitats and of Wild Flora and Fauna

● Such other matters as may be jointly referred to it by the Houses of the Oireachtas

● Draft European Union Legislation and Statutory Instruments made under the European Communities Acts, 1972-98

● Attendance at meeting of the Conference of European Affairs Committees of the EU Parliaments (COSAC)
