1. The Committee met at 2.30 p.m.

2. Members Present.

The following Members were present:-

Deputies Séamus Pattison (in the Chair), Paul Bradford, Joe Costello, Frances Fitzgerald, Mary Flaherty, Chris Flood, Jim Kemmy, Helen Keogh, Kathleen Lynch, Tom Moffat and Michael J. Woods.

3. Business of Committee.

The Committee considered its programme of work.

4. Report of Travel.

The Chairman brought forward a draft report of the visit by the Committee to the Meeting between Social Affairs Committees of European and National Parliaments concerning European Social Policy and the 1996 Inter-Governmental Conference in Brussels on 22nd and 23rd January.

Draft Report agreed to.

5. Report of Travel.

The Chairman brought forward a draft report of the visit by the Committee to Meetings with Government Departments and other Bodies concerning the Ill-treatment of Children in Stockholm, 23rd to 27th October 1995.

Draft Report agreed to.

6. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 3.40 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday, 16th February, 1996.
