1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy G. Mitchell (in the Chair), Deputies M. Ahern, Connor, Dennehy, McGahon, Rabbitte and Taylor.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1988.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1988 was resumed. The following Account was disposed of:—

Office of the Minister for Education, First-Level Education, Second-Level and Further Education, Third-Level and Further Education.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. N. Lindsay (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. J. Purcell (Director of Audit, Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General) were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12.40 p.m. until 11 a.m. 27th September, 1990.
