1. The Committee met at 10 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy D. Foley (in the Chair), Deputies M. Ahern, K. Crotty, B. McGahon, G. Mitchell, and L. Naughten.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1984.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1984 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—

Department of the Taoiseach, An Comhairle Ealaíon, Comptroller and Auditor General, Post Primary Education (resumed).

4. Witnesses Examined.

The following witnesses were examined: Mr. P. Ó hUiginn (Secretary, Department of the Taoiseach), Mr. P. Graham (Secretary, Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General), Mr. D. Brennan (Secretary, Department of Education), Mr. J. Smith (Department of Finance), Mr. J. O’Farrell (Department of the Public Service), Mr. P. L. McDonnell (Comptroller and Auditor General).
