Letter from the Committee to the Office of Public Works.

Thank you for the detailed brief sent on 28 February for the attention of the Committee.

Further to yesterday’s meeting, it was agreed that you would enquire about the following:-

(1)Procedures on acquisition of accommodation operated by organisations similar to the Office of Public Works in countries of comparable size to Ireland (the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Embassies in Dublin may be able to help on this aspect).

(2)Details of delays caused by factors outside the control of O.P.W. e.g. slowness in completing briefs by Departments/Offices.

(3)The costs involved in (2), as far as can be ascertained by your Office.
