1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present

The following members were present:—

Deputy O’Toole (in the Chair), Deputies Belton, V. Brady, Kenneally, Morley, C. Murphy, Smith and Woods.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1977

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the period 1 January 1977 to 31 December 1977 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—

Office of the Minister for the Public Service, Civil Service Commission, Superannuation and Retired Allowances, Remuneration, Office of the Minister for Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Vocational Education, Residential Homes and Special Schools, Higher Education.

4. Witnesses Examined

Mr. S. Mac Gamhna (Secretary, Department of the Public Service), Mr. D. Ó Laoghaire (Secretary, Department of Education) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment

The Committee adjourned at 12.40 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday next.
