1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present

The following members were present:—

Deputy O’Toole (in the Chair), Deputies N. Andrews, Kenneally, Morley, F. O’Brien and Woods.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1977

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the period 1 January 1977 to 31 December 1977 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:—

Office of the Minister for Justice, Garda Síochána, Prisons, Courts, Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, Public Works and Buildings, Posts and Telegraphs.

4. Witnesses Examined

Mr. A. Ward (Secretary, Department of Justice), Mr. S. S. Mac Cárthaigh (Chairman, Commissioners of Public Works), Mr. P. L. Ó Réagáin (Secretary, Department of Posts and Telegraphs) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. The Committee deliberated.

6. Adjournment

The Committee adjourned at 12.50 p.m. until 11.30 a.m. tomorrow.
