1. The Committee met at 10.30 a.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Barry Desmond (in the Chair), the Attorney General, Deputies Brosnan, de Valera, Henry P. Dockrell, Enright, Esmonde, O’Malley and Pattison.


3. Consideration of Bill.


The Committee resumed consideration of the Bill.


(i) Section 3.


Question again proposed:—


“That the section, as amended, stand part of the Bill”.

(ii) Section 4.


Amendment proposed (Deputy de Valera):


“In page 4, after line 31, to insert:—


‘(4) The Commission shall from time to time prepare for submission by the Taoiseach to the Government proposals for law reform, and shall indicate the priority in which the Commission places the necessity for such law reform, and shall indicate the manner in which the Commission recommends that such law reform be initiated, and the scope and extent of such law reform’.”

“In page 4, after line 31, to insert the following paragraph:—


‘(g) indicate the desirability, priority, scope and extent of any proposals for law reform’.”
