1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy de Valera (in the Chair), Deputies Bermingham, H. Gibbons, Governey, Griffin, Staunton and Tunney.

3. Consideration of Appropriation Accounts, 1971-72.

Consideration of Appropriation Accounts for the year 1971-72 was resumed. The following Accounts were disposed of:— Local Government, Roinn na Gaeltachta, Defence, Army Pensions.

4. Witnesses Examined.

Mr. M. B. Lawless (Secretary, Department of Local Government), Mr. L. Toibín (Secretary, Roinn na Gaeltachta), Mr. S. Ó Cearnaigh (Secretary, Department of Defence) and the Comptroller and Auditor General were examined.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 1.20 p.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, 25th April, 1974.
