AUDITING OF STATE BODIES.

At the proceedings of the Committee on 15th July, 1971, I indicated that I would bring up to date the list of State-sponsored organisations which have changed from the Comptroller and Auditor General to private professional auditors in recent years. Apart from those mentioned at the proceedings, viz the Air Companies, Ceimicí Teoranta, Irish Life Assurance Co Ltd, Irish Shipping Ltd and Irish Steel Holdings Ltd, no further State-sponsored organisations have changed from the Comptroller and Auditor General to private professional auditors.
