Enclosed is the information relating to the recipients of the grants in 1969-70 out of Subhead H.11 of Vote 27—Office of the Minister for Education which I undertook to provide at the proceedings of the Committee on 29th July, 1971.

The figures shown in the attached press release concerning the allocation of grants to sporting and youth organisations during 1969-70 relate to the additional provision of £100,000 made by way of Supplementary Estimate in that year. There was no press release in relation to the allocation of the original provision of £7,500.
The £7,500 was allocated as follows:
(1) National Youth Council £3,000
(2) National Federation of Youth Clubs £2,000
(3) Catholic Youth Council £2,000
(4) Church of Ireland Diocesan Council £500.
These organisations also benefited under the larger scheme later in the year—details of which are shown in the press release.
