PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE

1. The Committee met at 4.15 p.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputies R. Burke, E. Collins, Dowling, FitzGerald, H. Gibbons, MacSharry and Tunney.


3. Mr. S. MacGearailt (for the Comptroller and Auditor General) was in attendance in an advisory capacity.


4. Election of Temporary Chairman.


Motion made (Deputy Tunney):


“That in the unavoidable absence of the Chairman, Deputy Collins do take the Chair for this meeting”.


Question put, and agreed to.


Deputy Collins took the Chair accordingly.


5. Witnesses Examined.


Examination of Mr. C. H. Murray (accompanied by Mr. A. J. Fagan) was resumed in private session.


6. Mr. Murray withdrew.


7. Ordered: to require* the Secretary, Department of Finance, to send by 25 May the complete Department of Finance file containing the papers relating to the Grant-in-Aid.


8. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 6.35 p.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday 25 May, 1972.
