1. The Committee met at 11 a.m.

2. Members Present.

The following members were present:—

Deputy Patrick Hogan (in the Chair), Deputies R. Burke, E. Collins, Dowling, and Tunney.

3. Mr. E. F. Suttle (Comptroller and Auditor General) was in attendance in an advisory capacity.

4. The Committee considered a letter* of 10 February, 1972 received from the Garda Commissioner, Mr. Wymes relating to evidence given in private by him and by Assistant Commissioner Malone.

Ordered: that legal advice be sought on Colonel Hefferon’s application† of 11 November, 1971 in connection with that evidence.

5. Adjournment.

The Committee adjourned at 12.15 p.m. until 7.15 p.m. on Tuesday next.
