PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE

1. The Committee met at 4.15 p.m.


2. Members Present.


The following members were present:—


Deputy Patrick Hogan (in the Chair), Deputies Barrett, R. Burke, Cluskey, E. Collins, Dowling, FitzGerald, H. Gibbons, MacSharry, Nolan, Treacy and Tunney.


3. Ordered: that Detective Sergeant Mac Donald be summoned to attend on Wednesday next.


4. Ordered that Chief Superintendent Fleming be summoned to attend on Wednesday next for cross-examination by Captain Kelly.


5. Ordered: that Mr. H be asked by telephone to state his decision relative to releasing his evidence to a witness and to possible cross-examination.


6. Ordered: that letter* of 2 September 1971 from the Minister for Justice and previous correspondence be sent to Deputy Ó Móráin for his observations.


7. Ordered: that priority be given to preparation of the report over consideration of Appropriation Accounts 1969-70.


8. Ordered: to defer consideration of letter and enclosure** of 25 October 1971 from Colonel Hefferon.


9. Adjournment.


The Committee adjourned at 6 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday next.
